Hello Nordic Walkers,
Thanks to Les Smith's continued support and vision
this year Portland Marathon's Nordic Walking has been
expanded to offer something for all fitness, ages and
skill levels of Nordic Walkers!
Marathon Distance Championship
The 2nd Annual Marathon Distance Nordic Walking World Championship is
open to all. Go for the gold or just have fun with this challenging
distance. Please be familiar with the NW rules posted in our pdf library.

5 Mile Distance World Championship
In response to your requests we are pleased to announce this years event
will have a 5 mile Nordic Walking Championship. This distance is great
for non-competitors or those new to the sport looking for a good healthy
day of fun with family and friends. Please be familiar with the NW

10K Mayor's Fun Nordic Walk
A non-competitive fun fitness walk through scenic Portland, Oregon.

Are you ready to take to the next level and share the fitness benefits
of Nordic Walking with others? Consider becoming a Fittrek Nordic Walking

Judge's Workshop
This 4 workshop covers techniques for judging and logistics of hosting

Race Director's Workshop
A 1 hour workshop designed for race directors considering including Nordic
Walking into their running or walking events. Equipment, safety, course
design, pacing and other logistics will be covered. No Fee. Sign Up

Nordic Walking Clinics
This 1 hour clinic is designed for retailers that are considering offering
Nordic Walking gear in their stores. Pole types, grip styles, strap
design and techniques will be covered by the founder of Fittrek- Dan

Nordic Walking Demos
Ever wondered what those crazy pole people are doing? Explore the benefits
and equipment of Nordic Walking in one of our 30 minute demonstration.

Every Nordic Walking finisher at this years event will receive a "swag
bag" full of Nordic Walking goodies. Just stop by the Fittrek NW
cool down tent to pick up your gift and meet others of your kind (pole
people).
